We the Maruthanayagam boys, a great gang of youngsters of Vaddukoddai East, dominated the whole Jaffna during late 90's and early 2000 with our skills in soft-ball cricket.
As a group of energetic,creative and skillful kids we started a softball cricket team called WINBIRDS 0n 1995. We started practicing cricket in a small empty space, which belongs to one of our friends, which is called Maruthanayagam stadium.(the story behind this name will be posted later) We were the top soft ball team in the Chankanai division and one among the top four in Jaffna district until we dissolved our team due to the unwanted situations in Jaffna during 2006/07. Now we are settled indifferent jobs in different places. Even though we are living different lives allover the world we all are still MARUTHANAYAGAM BOYZ.
